Job Description

Happy Tiddlers is a purpose built Swim Centre located in Barton Le Clay.Team Tiddler are dedicated to creating confidence, teaching water safety and building essential swimming skills for all. 

Main purpose and scope of the job:Responsible to ensure high quality teaching of all swimmers and within the set guidelines of the

 Greet members with a positive and welcoming attitude as a representation of Happy Tiddlers Ltd
 To plan and deliver lessons ensure adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans
 Integration of our Learn to Swim programme reward schemes into your classes

  • Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly
  • Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments
  • Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential
  • Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer
  • Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
  • Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance
  • To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming
  • Set ground rules for each session
  • Evaluate sessions and give feedback
  • Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates using our online portal
  • To attend team meetings as and when necessary
  • To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Happy Tiddlers Ltd and site policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, etc​


Must be a qualified Level 2 Aquatic Teacher (STA or ASA) AND Level 2 Baby Pre School Teacher (STA

or Birthlight) PLUS hold a STA Safety Award for Teachers OR NARSTC qualification


Additional tasks that may be requested: 

    Manage member information within online system pertaining to class changes, catch ups, member details
    Accept payments and make a log of each sale
    Carry out pool tests and maintenance checks in accordance with Happy Tiddlers documented guidelines
    Clean and restock designated facility areas (office, dry space, changing rooms, wet side, toilets, spectator’s platform)
    Perform and document routine cleaning, inspection and maintenance activities
    Carry out deep clean when required
    Ensure building is safe and secure upon exit, setting alarms, checking fire exits are closed and locking all doors

    Provide support to all teaching colleagues
    Provide support to Directors
    Notify management of stock requirements and needs for repairs
    Follow all health and safety regulations
    Communicate clearly and positively; phone, face to face and email
    Notify Directors of any concerns pertaining to members, colleagues and the building
