Job Description

We are looking for a graduate to join our Quest "Excellent" Team to oversee and further develop our national award winning Northampton Street Sports Project. This is an 18 month fixed term position. The first 8 weeks will be funded by Time2Grow and the remaining 16 months will be funded by Northampton Leisure Trust at £16,616 per annum (35 hours per week) and £3,000 worth of benefits, formal training and qualifications. For a full list of benefits please visit the job description on our website. • To oversee the Northampton Street Sports Project (Sport for Development Initiative) and ensure delivery of all of its key strands (weekly sessions, central venue holiday tournaments, employability courses, volunteer and activator training and Friday Night Youth Sport Night) within agreed timescales and to quality standards • To consult with beneficiaries of the Northampton Street Sports Project on a regular basis to evidence the impact of the project and develop ideas, solutions and innovations that improve the effectiveness of the project • To continually monitor all activities of the Northampton Street Sports Project to ensure outputs are on schedule, taking corrective action where necessary • To recruit and provide on-going support to Sports Activators and volunteers including the organisation of formal and informal training • To support the Health and Wellbeing Development Manager to secure funding to sustain the Northampton Street Sports Project • To support the Health and Wellbeing Development Manager with the monitoring and evaluation of projects and the compilation of performance report for internal and external stakeholders • To develop, manage and deliver a range of community events including street sports tournaments/festivals and provide support for community organisations with their respective events • To support the delivery of the Inspired Coaching Service • To support the Health and Wellbeing Development Team and the organisation to generate new income streams and meet financial targets • To assist with the co-ordination and delivery of the teams and marketing and communication requirements and lead on the co-ordination of the Northampton Street Sports Projects marketing and communication requirements • To encourage participation amongst the least active groups within the local community; the elderly, low income or un-waged, children and young people, ethnic minority groups and those with a life limiting illness/long term health condition or disability • To establish and maintain strong and worthwhile partnerships with other agencies at a local and county level to minimise duplication of effort and resources • To research and identify new development opportunities/initiatives within the industry and evaluate their suitability for adoption on an ongoing basis • To work in collaboration with partners to identify community needs and to deliver services • Design and deliver coaching programmes in different settings including, leisure centre and community based. • To organise and develop sustainable initiatives which increase physical activity, and provide structured exit pathways. • To ensure that optimum use is made of all allocated resources (people, finance, facilities and equipment) to achieve successful delivery of agreed goals and performance standards • To demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity in the delivery of services to customers and to staff
