Job Description

This is a new start-up business with the aim of developing and marketing an APP which will be used by the general public and operated on the different media platforms.

To showcase the idea / concept and to realise the various possibilities the group decided to produce a Proof Of Concept (POC). With the help of a University of Bedfordshire graduate they have taken the idea and developed over 60-70% of the database which will support the APP to interact with the User front-end registration and access screens. We are now looking for a new graduate with identical qualities to help us complete the POC ready to demonstrate to interested parties. This will require a JavaScript software developer who can work on this project and complete the work already started.


Knowledge Required


Codebase uses: node.js, pug/jade template engine and express.js                          


Database is using MySql, project is deployed on the Linux Ubuntu VPS. Successful candidate will be working on every part of the web-application (back-end, front-end, database modelling and devOps).

Must Have:

    • Experience in writing back-end and front-end code using JavaScript and Node.js

    • Experience in CSS and Bootstrap

    • Git

    • MySQL

    • Knowledge on how to manage website hosting on Linux server or willingness to learn

Bonus Points:

    • Pug/Jade templating

    • Express.js

    • GitLab

    • Sass
