A life science production company, providing services and products to the life science community. The main source of income is production of Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) which is used in cell culture applications. Previously the MD created SeraLab Ltd in 2004 (sold in 2015), it started in cell culture, diversified into providing individual samples for biomarker studies. LSG started as a virtual company, acting as project managers but outsourcing the work out to others in the UK –this was in 2008. LSG were determined to keep ALL antibody work in the UK. Fetal Bovine Serum at that time was being manufactured in Germany, the £ dropped against the euro and it became uneconomical – so things got brought back to the UK.
Job Description – Scientific Technical Administrator
The position of Technical Administrator at Life Science Group Ltd (LSG) is to obtain business development objectives by building relationships with research laboratories and promoting awareness of LSG’s products and services to the research, biotech and diagnostic markets.
LSG services and products are supplied through two separate divisions:
Life Science Production (LSP) offers a range of cell culture sera including Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS), Newborn Calf Serum (NBCS), Human AB serum, Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and associated cell culture media reagents. LSP also offers contract manufacture services for the production of cell culture sera, media, buffers and other reagents.
Antibody Production Services (APS) provides flexible and professional contract production of antibodies, both monoclonal and polyclonal, together with a large range of associated services.
The role will entail:
Responsibility for managing and growing business in existing and new accounts for both divisions of the company.
Satisfy scientific and technical expectations from customers, either directly or through discussion with the management and technical team.
Report technical sales activity and performance to management.
Acquiring, maintaining and keeping up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of the customer base, including information on customers, business potential, competitor activity and market trends.
Continuously assessing the territory and market to identify new business opportunities with existing customers and opportunities to add to the customer base.
Training will be given for various aspects of laboratory work and technical sales.
